Gilbert Scout Pack 60 will begin its annual “Scouting for Food” on February 9. Scouts will drop off food bags to homes in the community. They ask each household to fill the bags with nonperishable food items. On Saturday, February 8, Pack 60 Scouts will collect the bags of food. The food will be distributed to local food pantries. Gilbert Scout Pack 60 is now selling “Camp Cards” to raise monies for the annual Twilight Camp, uniforms, gear and more. The cards are $10each and offer many discounts to local businesses.

The Scouts will bring their Pinewood Derby car kits to the Scout Hut this week and begin making their cars. For information on the purchase of Camp Cards, contact Patricia Pound at 803-724-7073.

Congratulations to Gilbert High student Gracie Howard, whose essay, “Perilous Beauty,” earned 1st place in SC Wildlife Magazine’s contest.
