A documentary titled "Fentanyl High," which explores the impact of drug misuse in high schools, will be shown in Columbia. The screening is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m.
This will take place at Spotlight Cinemas Capital, located at 201 Columbia Mall Blvd. and has free admission.
Fentanyl is increasingly present in the drug supply in South Carolina, including in the Midlands area, with fatal consequences, according to the press release. The film is aimed primarily at parents and teenagers, though everyone is welcome to attend.
Following the documentary, a panel of experts in prevention, treatment and recovery will host a brief question-and-answer session. Attendees can also visit resource tables staffed by organizations such as Crossroads Treatment Center, The Courage Center and The Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (LRADAC) to gather information and speak with representatives.
THE LRADAC offers a variety of programs for residents in Lexington and Richland counties.
