SLED charged 3 for computer crimes

Agents with the SC Law Enforcement Division arrested 3 Richland County women for creating fraudulent customer accounts to obtain property and services from Charter Communications which cost the company more than $700,000.

Charter is now Spectrum which has a large information hub off Platt Springs Road near the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

SLED announced late Monday afternoon that Bria Chenial Watts, 28, Asia Michelle McCrory, 29, and Courtney Katerri Smith, 32, were each charged with violating the Computer Crimes Act 1st degree.

The SLED investigation was requested by the Attorney General’s Office.

The women were booked at the Lexington County Detention Center.
