Springdale residents have enjoyed a splash park and kids play area for years. But this year it was even better because of new playground equipment, upgraded shelters and a much-improved fountain for the spray pool.
All thanks to a collaborative effort between the Town of Springdale and the Lexington County Recreation Commission. The total cost for the upgrades at the park, located at 2915 Platt Springs Road, was $125,697 and included water tap, equipment and construction costs. The Recreation and Aging Commission contributed $50,000 and the rest came from Town of Springdale operating funds.
I spoke to a couple of moms who were with their kids and both had high praise for the project. And it appears the Springdale residents will be enjoying it for many more years.
