Thursday — Oct. 6

The Tams

The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St) hosts the classic beach music band The Tams. Expect to hear hits like “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy”, “What Kind of Fool,” “I’ve Been Hurt” and “Untie Me.” Showtime is 6:30 p.m., and the show, part of the Lexington Live series, is free to attend. Friday — Oct. 7

Phil Urban Presents: Elvis & Variety Show

Phil Urban brings his Elvis tribute show back to the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater (109 Alexander Rd.) for the first of this fall’s Rhythm on the River concerts. The kickoff to the autumnal run, which continues each Thursday in October, also features Elizabeth Urban. Concert starts at 6 p.m. and is free to attend, like all Rhythm on the River concerts. “Little Shop of Horrors” (musical)

Join On Stage Productions for a rendition of “Little Shop Of Horrors” at Alegria Dance Studio (1125 B Avenue in West Columbia): “Seymour Krelborn is a meek and dejected assistant at a floral shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names ‘Audrey II’ after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful voice, and an unquenchable thirst for human blood.” The play runs through Oct. 8., and tickets cost between $16 and $20. Fall Midlands Plant & Flower Festival

The State Farmer’s Market (3483 Charleston Hwy. in West Columbia) hosts the Fall Midlands Plant & Flower Festival. Shop for fall plants and flowers, gardening equipment, décor and seasonal produce. Willie Wells & Blue Ridge Mountain Grass (concert)

Rod Harris Jr. (concert)

Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and Grammy-nominated guitarist Rod Harris Jr. present “A Night Of Jazz Grooves.” Expect to hear classics and hits by George Benson, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, The Isley Brothers and more. Leather Crafting Class

Meeting Street Artisan Market

Head over to the Interactive Art Park (425 Meeting St. in West Columbia) for the Meeting Street Artisan Market. The market includes vendors selling original art, crafts, foods, and produce. Support local vendors, interact with the unique sculptures throughout the park, and then head to State and Meeting Streets, and Court Avenue to continue shopping and dining. Civil Remedy (concert)

Resurrection (concert)

Chingy (concert)

St. Louis hip-hop artist Chingy comes to the Skyline Club (100 Lee St. in West Columbia). Expect to hear hits like “Right Thurr,” “Pullin’ Me Back,” “One Call Away” and many more. Woofstock ‘22

The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts Woofstock ’22, a fundraiser for the HSPCA. Woofstock will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. with bands, brews, food trucks, vendors, and dogs. All proceeds from Woofstock will benefit the HSPCA and will be used to support their new local spay/neuter clinic. Visit icehouseamphitheater.com for more info.

Kyle Dills (concert)

Wednesday — Oct. 12

Real Friends (concert)

New Brookland Tavern (122 State St.) hosts the Illinois pop-punk band Real Friends, along with With Confidence, The Home Team, and Taylor Acorn. Showtime is 6 p.m., and tickets are $28.50. Visit newbrooklandtaver.com for more information.

Across the County Line

S.C. State Fair

Head over to the State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr. in Columbia) for another edition of the State Fair. Get ready for rides, live music, food and drink, arts and crafts vendors and much more. Visit scstatefair.org for more information on the event, which will be in town from Oct. 12 to 23.

Oktoberfest Columbia

Join the Incarnation Lutheran Church (3005 Devine St. in Columbia) Oct. 7-9 for its Oktoberfest celebration, back for the first time since 2019. Incarnation Lutheran Church offers an authentic German experience, with German beer, homemade German food and treats, and plenty of great entertainment for all ages. There will be two biergartens, live entertainment from real oompah bands and dancers, and a Kinderzone for the kids. Oktoberfest runs from 11am to 10pm and is free to attend. Great American Whiskey Fair

Head over to 701 Whaley (701 Whaley St. in Columbia ) for the Great American Whiskey Fair on Oct. 7. The festival says it will have “a host of distilling luminaries, small producers, bartenders and enthusiasts [at] the largest whiskey tasting in the United States. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., and admission runs from $50 to $125. Visit experiencewhiskey.com for more information. 

The Elvis Imperials (concert)

Join the Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) for The Elvis Imperials on Oct. 7. The Imperials performed with Elvis Presley from 1969 to 19 72, recording classic gospel albums like Elvis’ Grammy-award-winning “How Great Thou Art.” Their many hits include “How Great Thou Art,” “Bread On The Water,” “He Touched Me,” “Trumpet Of Jesus,” “Praise The Lord,” “Lord of the Harvest,” “Let the Wind Blow,” “Stand By The Power” and many more. Newberry Harvest Festival

The Enoree River Winery (1650 Dusty Rd.) hosts the 8th Annual Newberry Harvest Festival on Oct. 8. There will be live music, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors and much more.
