Thursday — Oct. 20

13th Annual Big Thursday Celebration
The annual Big Thursday Celebration is back at the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W Main St.) to celebrate ahead of the big game between Clemson and USC. The fundraising event features a dinner provided by Sheal’s BBQ and gridiron greats from the two schools will apppear. Event starts at 5:30 p.m., and tickets cost $50. Boo at the Zoo
The Riverbanks Zoo & Garden (500 Wildlife Pkwy.) hosts Boo at the Zoo: “Make tracks to Riverbanks for the Zoo’s annual Halloween spook-tacular. Guests will enjoy a wild night of safe, affordable, family-friendly activities. Trick-or-treat throughout the zoo, delight in Ray’s Moonlight Magic, and summon the Halloween spirits with the Eeky Freaky DJ. For an additional charge, guests can roast marshmallows, take a spin on the Haunted Carousel, or hop aboard the Spooky Spots and Stripes Railroad.” Boo In The Zoo runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20-30 and tickets are $15. Friday — Oct. 21

Lexington DU Fall Oyster Roast & Banquet
The Lexington Ducks Unlimited chapter hosts its annual oyster roast and banquet starting at 6 p.m. at Lexington County Baseball Stadium (474 Ball Park Rd.). Oysters will be served 6:30-7 p.m. Dinner, catered by Hudson’s Smokehouse, starts at 7 p.m., including a pig pickin’, fried catfish, hash and rice and “all the fixings.” Dinner is followed by an auction, which will feature “ a number of different limited edition exclusive firearms as well as some of the country’s most sought after DU artwork.” Open bar is also included with admission, which starts at $100. Corn Maze
Grab the kids and head over to Clinton Sease Farm (382 Olde Farm Rd.) for a fun afternoon solving one of their corn mazes. Your $15 admission includes all mazes, unlimited hayrides, an obstacle course, all playground activities and a trip to the pumpkin patch. Nahi Gruv (concert)
The West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater (109 Alexander Rd.) is the site for the Rhythm on the River concert series, which continues weekly through the end of october. This time, enjoy the reggae and soul of Nahi Gruv starting at 6 p.m. The show is free to attend. Visit cwcchamber.com for more information.

Hall Of Horrors
Celebrate Halloween a bit early with the Hall of Horrors (1153 Walter Price Rd. in Cayce). The Hall is a nonprofit haunted attraction organized by the Cayce-West Columbia Jaycees. For more than 35 years, Hall of Horrors, the longest-running haunted attraction in the Midlands, has been scaring guests and raising money for many local and state charities, including S.C. Jaycee Camp Hope, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Wounded Warrior Project, Hidden Wounds, and the FealGood Foundation. Saturday — Oct. 22

Halloween Celebration
Saluda Shoals Park East (6071 St. Andrews Road) hosts a Halloween celebration. There will be a trick-or-treat trail at Leo’s Landing Playground. This event is for children ages 12 and under and runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $5 in advance or $7 the day of. Get tickets and more information at icrc.net

SC Jazz Masterworks Ensemble (concert)
Join the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo) as it hosts a concert by the SC Jazz Masterworks Ensemble. The group presents an unforgettable evening of jazz favorites while spotlighting some of the state’s most celebrated musicians — this time spotlighting vocalist Kristi Hood.. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (movie)
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts a screening of “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” starting at 8 p.m.: “When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.” This event is free, and no tickets are required. Bryan Anderson (concert)
Join bassist Bryan Anderson and Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) for an evening of jazz, old-school funk and Latin rhythms called “A Night of Rhythmic Grooves.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Prince, Roberta Flack, Neo, Michael Jackson, Ronnie Laws, Grover Washington Jr. and more. Mid-Carolina Charity Golf Tournament
Join the Golden Hills Golf & Country Club and Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative as they host the Mid-Carolina Charity Golf Tournament. Proceeds go to Becky’s Place at Lexington Medical Center, which helps cancer patients struggling with the side effects of chemotherapy. Dough Stanhope (comedy)

Tuesday — Oct. 25

Lexington Police Department Foundation Fall Festival
Annual festival returns after a two-year pause, promising "fun for the whole family with entertainment, rides and bounce houses, featuring local restaurants, a costume contest with prizes, and more. Thursday — Oct. 27

Haunted History
The Lexington County Museum (231 Fox St.) presents a Haunted History Halloween program. Visitors will hear ghostly stories, including strange and unusual events in Lexington County’s history, learn about strange remedies in the 19th century, and meet memorable specters and ghosts along the way. They’ll also learn about the witches and hexes in Lexington County’s history. The Haunted History tours run from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. S.C. State Fair
Head over to the State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr. in Columbia) as the 2022 State Fair continues through Oct. 23. Get ready for rides, live music, food and drink, arts and crafts vendors and much more. Visit scstatefair.org for more information.

“The Rocky Horror Show” (musical)
Do the Time Warp again with “The Rocky Horror Show” at Trustus Theatre (520 Lady St. in Columbia): “Stuck with a flat tire during a storm, newly engaged love birds Brad and Janet find themselves at the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. What follows is a ‘strange journey’ full of wild characters, huge musical numbers, and fan-favorite moments.” The show runs through Oct. 30

Cravin’ Melon (concert)

Dark History
Join the S.C. State Museum (301 Gervais St.) for a Dark History tour on Oct. 22. Explore a variety of infamous and legendary tales throughout the state’s history” “Discover the true story of Columbia’s catacombs, a series of mysterious tunnels that were built to hide anything from politicians to Confederate gold. Hear stories from Gullah Geechee folklore that are sure to chill you to the bone and learn about the path General Sherman took during his march through Columbia.” Guests may take an educator-led guided tour at either 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m., suitable for ages 12 and up. Unpack the Porch
Enoree River Winery (1605 Dusty Rd. in Newberry) hosts another Unpack the Porch event on Oct. 23. Music will be provided by DJ Chuck Weaver and Two Loafer Party, and there will be shag dancing from 2 to 6 p.m. A food truck from Sarah’s Rockin’ Kitchen will also be on hand.
