The staff at Saluda River Academy for the Arts miss their students.
Teachers and other staff held a parade last Wednesday to visit from their vehicles.
The “Honk for Bobcat Unity in the Community Parade,” was an effort to show SRAA students how much they are missed and loved by the their school.
Schools have moved to online learning since Gov. McMaster ordered them closed Mar. 15 due to the corona virus crisis.
The parade left from the back parking lot of SRAA and moved east, turning off of Gunter Circle onto Duke Street. The 30 or so vehicles then turned right onto Mohawk Drive to Sunset Blvd.
The procession traveled past the homes of students. In many cases, parents stood with their children waving and smiling as the teachers rode by.
The parade lasted about an hour and a half. Social distancing was practiced at all times.
