Have you been waiting for vaccine due to your age?

If you are 16 or older, you will be eligible for a covid vaccine Wednesday.

Vaccine doses are rising and demand for shots falling, Gov. Henry McMaster said.

SC health officials planned to expand access to roughly 4 million South Carolinians March 31.

This will open Phase 2, more than a month ahead of time.

South Carolina will receive more than 160,000 doses of vaccine this week.

Another 75,000 1st doses will be shipped directly to large pharmacies.

Health officials said it may be hard to find an appointment right away after eligibility expands.

They urge you to be patient.

Online appointments can be made by calling 1-866- 365-8110.

Pfizer is the only vaccine authorized for age 16-18.

Moderna, Janssen and Pfizer are authorized for those 18 and older.

None of the vaccines are yet approved for those under 16. Testing on children is underway.

Nearly 420,000 vaccine doses have been given, more than 23,000 a day.

More than 28% of South Carolinians had received at least 1 dose and 15% had 2.
