The Big Lie: Covid bill will get us back to work

Posted

We share a lot of ideas and news in this little newspaper and on our website that you won’t find in today’s mainstream media.

What you are about to read exposes a Big Lie pushed by the President and Congressional Democrats – that their $1.9 trillion covid-relief bill will “get America back to work.”

Like a lot of Big Lies, it won’t. In fact, an estimated 8 million fewer of us will have jobs in the next 6 months if the bill passes.

Why is that? Because it will create the largest expansion in welfare benefits since the birth of the modern welfare state.

This so-called safety net includes 6 months of weekly $400 bonus unemployment benefits on top of the normal weekly benefits, a $3,000-a-child tax credit, an expansion of food stamps and rental assistance, $2,000-a-person checks and expanded health benefits.

President Biden’s plan will repeal many of the work requirements of the Bill Clinton era.

It has minimal requirements in exchange for its cash payments and other benefits.

Many benefits are tax-free. Working for pay is not as good as government benefits.

No 7.65% payroll tax comes from unemployment as it does from your pay, say Casey Mulligan of the University of Chicago and Stephen Moore of the Committee to Unleash Prosperity.

A family of 4 with 2 unemployed adults will be paid the after-tax equivalent of more than $100,000 to $170,000 depending on where you live.

This doesn’t include housing or rental assistance and exceeds the pay of 85% of our families.

Further, a $15 minimum wage will cost all of us 8 million jobs.

Instead, we could halt payroll taxes on jobs paying $100,000 a year or less. This would give most of us a 7.5% raise and cut costs of rehiring the unemployed. It will cost the government less than $1.9 trillion.

This bill will make millions of us dependent on government handouts, an easy path toward Big Brother’s control.

We welcome your thoughts on this benefits bill. Please email JerryBellune@yahoo.com

Does the Biden benefits bill plan to make more of us dependent on Big Brother?
