Pelion Police Chief Mike Crider says that after 26 years in law enforcement he has decided to retire. His last day was Oct. 23.

Chief Crider says he has made a lot of friends and worked beside some awesome law enforcement officers. He says he was fortunate to

have a supportive wife, mayor and council. We all wish Chief Crider the best in the next chapter of his life.

PELION RURITAN welcomes Kit Spires who has been reinstated as a regular member. New officers will be installed at the December meeting. Anyone interested in be coming affiliated with the Ruritan is invited to attend a meeting.

THE ANNUAL Community Thanksgiving Service will be a virtual event this year. You can view the event by logging on to any of the local churches Facebook pages or their websites and click on Facebook. The event will be broadcast Nov. 22 at 6 pm.

TRUNK OR Treat drive-thru will be at the Pelion ball field Oct. 31 from 6-8 pm.
