AROUND LEXINGTON COUNTY

There was lots of hype about football, mainly about our Clemson Tigers and the LSU Tigers!

Unfortunately, the outcome was not good for us Sandlappers.

Going after their 4th college football championship, the Clemson Tigers faced the LSU Tigers and officials who clearly needed corrective eye-wear. Just wait until next year!

Our family is divided between Carolina and Clemson supporters, but it was still an honor for the state of South Carolina just to be at the championship game.

Anne and Dennis Bull are in New Orleans and report:

Tigers, Tigers, everywhere. Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers filled the streets of New Orleans this week as they prepared for the game Monday night. Some of our local Tigers attending includes Dean and Marlene Wheeler, Tripp and Laura Garrick, Tommy and Bobbie Sue Harman, Jason Harman, Fred and Alfeida Mathias, Will and Jenny Coker, Harriet and Hollis Coker, Ben and Suzanne Compton, Emily and Cathy Herndon and family, Ronnie and Joy Wingard, Fred and Janice Holbrook, Brett and DJ Harris, Bob, Donna and Hunter Peeler, Neil and Lu Bucley, and Jim and Elizabeth Buckley and their children.

Some of you might have received an invitation to the Lexington County Museum Gala February 22. It will be celebrating the 5th anniversary of the museum. This annual event will be held 6-10 pm at the Lexington Municipal Center. Funds this year will be designated for refurbishing the historic Fox House.

You are invited and encouraged to purchase tickets at the museum or click on “Get Involved” at the museum web site to purchase via PayPal. Tickets are $50 per person, $65 at the door.

There will be lots of fun with dinner, entertainment and dancing to the Frank Macaulay Great Society Band. Party attire is suggested. Come out and support our Lexington County treasure.
