West Columbia City Councilman Joseph D. Dickey, Jr., managing partner of the Dickey Law Group, has been selected for the 2020 edition of SuperLawyers. He made the list in employment and labor law.

Dickey attended Clemson University where he earned a BS in international management and a BA in Japanese and international trade. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served as President of the International Law Society.

He has worked in Fukuoka, Japan at an economic development firm where he did market research for foreign investment.

The West Columbia Fire Department, Lexington County Fire Service and Columbia Fire Department conducted a rescue on the Saluda River Tuesday, May 5.

7 adult rafters and 3 dogs were rescued.

Cayce’s Guignard Park is officially open. The play area is roped off and remains closed as a precau reen spaces are ac-tion, but the trails and green spaces are accessible for exercise and recreation. The City of Cayce asks users to practice social distancing as the community and the nation slowly and cautiously reopens.

Beginning May 4 restaurants were allowed to serve customers outdoors.

Some restaurants called on Something Borrowed owner Lee Pitcovich to supply tents, tables and chairs for customers.
