Meet Your Army: Nov. 5, 5:30-8 p.m. at Fort Jackson. See and experience how soldiers train and provide insight into day to day operations. You’ll get a briefing about training and Fort Jackon’s mission before watching Basic Combat Training Soldiers move under direct, live machine gun fire and talk with the soldiers about their training. Harvest Festival: Oct. 27, 3-6 p.m. at New Bethel AME Church 500 South Lake Dr. Lexington. Entertainment, trunk-or-treat, games, candy, face painting, a bounce house, and more activities. SC Tribute for the Great War: Oct. 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at South Carolina Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum. Remember the services of South Carolina’s Veterans. See living historians portraying the Allied & Central Powers, with displays on the 30th Division, South Carolina’s African American 371st Infantry Regiment, displays of weapons, equipment, uniforms, and more. A special presentation will take place at 1 p.m. on the equipment of the Doughboy’s in the Trenches. A children’s scavenger hunt will take place. The living history displays will be free of charge, however the regular admission will be charged to enter the Relic Room & Military Museum.
