Town of Lexington welcomes Budweiser Clydesdales

Posted

The Budweiser Clydesdales made their first ever appearance in the Town of Lexington on April 25.

The horses paraded down Main Street, distributing cases of beer to businesses along the route.

According to a release from the town, the Clydesdales date back to April of 1933 when a six-horse hitch was presented as a gift to August A. Busch, Sr., by his sons, to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition.

“Today, the Clydesdales interact with millions of people each year to create a one-of-a-kind experience that generates lifelong memories,” the release read.

The Clydesdales used the route of Main Street to North Lake Drive to Butler Street to North Church Street back to Main Street.
