Daniel James White, 60, of Landrum, S.C., has been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as the person who died in the Dec. 17 Interstate 26 on-ramp collision.
The two-vehicle crash happened in the West Columbia area of Lexington County shortly after 3 p.m. on the westbound I-26 on-ramp at mile marker 113.
Fisher said White was “outside of his vehicle on the shoulder of the entrance ramp when a vehicle left the roadway and struck him.”
White was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
