Ke'Mari Samar'Trey Ford, 18, of Lexington, has been identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as the person who was found shot outside of an apartment complex on Fernandina Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County on April 4.
Ford was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, according to a release from the coroner’s office.
He was discovered just before 1 p.m., and according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, deputies attempted lifesaving measures.
Latif Shi’Yon Elijah Ross, 23, of Columbia, has been charged in connection with Ford’s death.
“After speaking with witnesses, detectives determined Ross was arguing with the victim before shooting him,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in the release. “Ross then left the scene and was arrested by deputies Sunday morning.”
Ross was charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a person prohibited, according to arrest warrants.
