Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the man who died in a two-vehicle collision on Sept. 17 as 31-year-old Marcus Holmes Jr. of Gaston.
The crash happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 321 and Gardner's Terrace Road.
Fisher said Holmes was traveling south on U.S. 321 when another vehicle traveling east on Gardners Terrace Road struck him. The impact caused Holmes to leave the road, and he struck a utility pole.
Holmes, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was not taken to a hospital.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
