1 motorcyclist dead after Lexington area I-20 crash

Kendall Lamar Walker, 57, of Augusta, Ga., was identified by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher as the individual who died in a motorcycle versus vehicle accident on June 28. 

The accident occurred near the 51-mile marker of Interstate 20 eastbound in the Lexington area.

According to the media release, Walker was stopped under an overpass with three other motorcyclists when a vehicle left the roadway and hit all four motorcyclists. 

Walker, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said. The three other motorcyclists were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. The four occupants of the vehicle were not injured. 

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT and the South Carolina Highway Patrol will continue to investigate the incident.
