Friends and family gathered at Jenni Lynn Assisted Living Saturday, Dec. 19 to celebrate the 100th birthday of Vonetta Kannaday Arrants.

Vonetta was born in Hollow Creek, Lexington County and graduated from Brookland Cayce High School. She married Reuben Arrants of Hopkins in 1946 and travelled the southeast with him for his work. After his death, she moved to Lexington and joined St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.

Vonetta is known and loved for her kindness, her wonderful cooking, her love of birds and gardening and her beautiful crocheting.
