The 14th Annual Herb Festival was held this past weekend, on Saturday, April 11, at the Lexington County Museum.
This was a free event that featured herbs, vegetables, baked goods, educational presentations and local vendors. The Herb Bunch had free seminars on how to grow and harvest herbs. There were hands-on crafts for kids and the annual bake sale to help raise money for scholarships for local students majoring in horticulture or agriculture.
This event was made possible by the Lexington County Herb Bunch, and proceeds from the event went toward scholarships for two local students: Ellie Harman and Carter Senf.
Harman is a graduate of Gilbert High School and is currently a junior attending Clemson University. She is majoring in plant and environmental science, with a minor in plant pathology and biological science.
Senf is a graduate of Gilbert High School and is currently a junior attending Clemson University, majoring in agricultural education with a minor in horticulture.
This event was well attended by hundreds of people, and several of the 20 vendors sold out of their herb plants and other merchandise.
