Two Lexington County men were arrested recently on three total charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors.
Joshua Albert Magoon, 33 of Lexington, and Christopher Antonio Murray, 25 of Gaston, were arrested by Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigators with the Attorney General’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
A release notes that Attorney General’s Office investigators assisted in the case.
“Investigators received CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to both Magoon and Murray. Investigators state both Magoon and Murray distributed files of child sexual abuse material,” the release states.
Magoon was arrested July 28 and is charged with second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree, a felony that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Murray was arrested Aug. 1 and is charged with two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The felony is punishable by up to 10 years in prison for each count.
The cases are set to be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
