2019 Leadership Lexington to help veterans

Posted

The Leadership Lexington County Class of 2019 has chosen as its project to help Central Midlands Transitional Retreat, a housing facility for veterans in partnership with the Veterans Administration and others.

This includes housing, education, training, financial and employment counseling. The retreat is run by Christ Central Ministries.

Since 2008, over 1,770 veterans have been admitted to CMTR with over 1,030 successes. Of those successes, 59% completed and left with jobs and housing and 4% completed and departed to higher education. The others moved to assistance housing, after care and other destinations.
