The Lexington One Educational Foundation has announced the addition of six new members to its board of directors.
The newly appointed board members include Julie Bartels, Jacqueline “Jackie” Kaminer, Melissa K. “Missy” Moore, Willard “Will” Salley and Jennifer White. They will each serve three-year terms, while Cheryl Bartolotti, recently named the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, will serve a one-year term.
Bartels is the director of marketing at Hood Construction. Bartolotti is a first-grade teacher at Oak Grove Elementary. Kaminer is the Lexington site training and competency manager at Michelin North America. Moore is real estate broker in charge and attorney at law at Moore, Bradley, Bradley, Myers Law Firm. Salley is the plan quality manager at Michelin North America’s Lexington site. White is a realtor with Nexthome Specialists.
All six of the new members are involved in the community, with each having children currently enrolled in Lexington County School District One. All members have experience in a variety of fields, allowing the board to continue to create a diverse and dynamic approach to support local education.
The board members will meet quarterly throughout the school year, with additional special meetings being held as needed. Their key responsibilities include helping to lead and support various charitable initiatives and fundraising events that benefit schools in the district.
The board is also in charge of supporting new initiatives, like the Bucks for Book grant which supports literacy efforts.
Since its founding in 1994, the foundation has provided vital support to the district by offering grants, scholarships and other resources that enhance the educational experience for students and other resources to support teachers.
“We have been so pleased to welcome each of these individuals to the Lexington One Educational Foundation’s Board of Directors and have them involved in our endeavors,” said Foundation Executive Director Julie Anderson Washburn in a recent press release. “Each new board member brings a different perspective and talent to our board, yet all have a shared interest of being committed and enthusiastic parents of Lexington County School District One students.”
