The Cayce Historical Museum has completed an extensive inventory of more than 7,000 Native American artifacts, a project that began last spring.
Elizabeth Lumsden, the museum’s office and communications associate, led the project. Keith Stephenson, a member of the museum commission, volunteered many hours to help provide historical context for the artifacts. Ella MacFarland kicked off the project during her senior year of high school, laying the groundwork. Elizabeth Ernst, a University of South Carolina graduate, helped complete the final stages of the inventory.
This was the first full inventory of this collection since it was acquired decades ago, according to a post from the Cayce Historical Museum.
