Ad agency aids non-profits

Posted

Each year, a West Columbia advertising agency goes all out to help non-profits.

Riggs Partners calls it CreateAthon, an around the clock exercise in creative marketing and advertising.

Senior partners Cathy Rigg Monetti and Teresa Coles developed the concept 22 years ago.

They see it as an innovative way for the agency to deliver pro bono marketing services to local non-profits.

Their idea was to select a group of nonprofits and deliver marketing and communications services to them in a 24-hour marathon.

Their belief was that an annual event would allow them to work with multiple non-profits.

CreateAthon has grown into a national nonprofit organization that has recruited more than 100 different marketing teams in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and the UK.

They have delivered more than $25 million in pro bono service since 1998.

Nonprofits wishing to apply for the 2020 CreateAthon event may apply from May 15-July 15, 2020 at www.riggspartners.com/createathon .

Applications should provide a comprehensive background with a clear statement on the challenge that marketing and communications can solve.
