Airport, B-C students go to State

Several Lexington 2 high school students have been selected for the prestigious Palmetto Boys and Girls State programs this summer.

The weeklong programs, sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, offer a range of leadership and citizenship activities that emphasize the workings of government and politics.

Participants have completed their junior year and are selected based on leadership, scholarship, character and service, among other criteria.

Participants from Lexington Two high schools are:

American Legion Auxiliary Girls State

Airport: Emma Chandler, Jasmine Dewerdt, Katie Kyzer and Kallie Richbourg

Brookland-Cayce: Paw Der, Aubrey Ellisor, Haley Martin and Kelsy White

Palmetto Boys State

Brookland-Cayce: Joe B. Castles, Garrett Galloway, Jacob Hewitt, Kaden Hicks, Adam Krissinger, Khai Truang, Ben Welch and Allen Wilson

This year’s programs are set for June 9-15, the boys at Anderson University, the girls at Presbyterian College.
