Law enforcement presence increased at Lexington’s American Leadership Academy in late October after school officials became aware of a “concerning social media post” referencing the campus.
School officials said in an Oct. 29 Facebook post that they immediately began working with law enforcement to determine the source of the post.
“ALA administration and the criminal investigations team is actively handling the situation and the investigation is ongoing,” the post read. “We want to assure our families that the individual connected to the post is not someone who will be on campus.”
A Lexington Police Department post called it an internet threat, noting that an additional officer remained on campus that day.
