Are you fed up with lockdowns, too?

Posted

In flying around southern Lexington, northern Orangeburg and eastern Aiken counties, I have noted different activities starting to reopen.

More people seem to be shopping and dining out. Could it be they are fed up with covid-19 and are testing the waters to get normalcy back?

Last week I visited the Pelion Town Council’s monthly meeting. American Legion, Pelion Post 101 gave the Pelion Police $2,000 for body armor. The post plans a barbecue Oct. 10 to celebrate their 101st anniversary at the Pavilion community center. Chicken quarters plus fixings for $10, hamburger plates $7, child hot dog and potato chip plate $5.

The Shaw Air Force Base honor guard visited Sandhills Middle School

Aug. 31 to present the colors. Principal Brad Coleman talked to students about the pledge of allegiance and volunteering to raise and lower the flags daily and present the colors at assemblies.

I visited the Hwy 39 Diner in Wagener for one of the best Philly cheesesteak subs.

SCDNR is accepting applications for the “McBee WMA Quail Lottery Hunt Oct. 15 at 5 pm. For details visit the SCDNR website.

Until next week, fly safely, my friends.
