Art party benefitted Mission Lexington

Were you among the 1,000 guests at “Art in the Garden” last week at Wingard’s Market in Lexington?

Wally and Delores Steinhauser welcomed all to their 12th annual event to benefit Mission Lexington (formerly LICS).

Guests sampled delicious food and perused outstanding works of art by Margie Bach, Stacy Morgan, Gretchen Parker, Karen Petta, Melony Stucky and Margaret Vetter. There was live entertainment by Chicago Rewired band. Among those attending were Mission Lexington’s Director Robin Bowers, Anna Smith, Randy and Angela Halfacre, Gail and Harry Deith, Ron and Carolyn Bartlett, Jane and Hamp Caughman, Summer Schmidt, Tienda Winfre, Suzanne and Kent Flowers, Becky Addy, Linda and Phil Smith, Martha and Dick Thompson, Earline and Barry Davis, Joe Peters, Cindy and Bert Dooley, Stanette and David Brown, Buddy Brewer, Heath Bartlett, Sandi Patel, Beth and Ozmi Jebali, and many more.

There was a wonderful piano concert last Tuesday at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. Jim Ingram and Sylvia Looney entertained with classical, popular and patriotic music. Joining them were Robert Looney on drums and soloist Bailey Parker.

Coming up October 9, noon-1 p.m., is another “Lunch and Learn” at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Gilbert. Carol Wright-sell will speak on Wood Pallet Gardening, a big craze in gardening. Reserve your lunch by calling 359-7586.

The 2018 Adventures in Learning at The Shepherd’s Center starts today, September

American Legion Post 7 will have its meets October 13 at 7 p.m. The Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. Call 250-9771 to register.

Belated Happy birthday to Lauren Danser on her 40th and also to her brother, Christian Danser.

Christian and Amanda Durham were married recently in the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. His mother, Toni Dans-er, reports it was a beautiful wedding.
