If you don’t know the name Jane Marczweski, AKA Nightbirde, you will or you ought to.

Jane is a 30-year-old singer who appeared on America’s Got Talent on June 9.

She is battling cancer and sang a song she wrote called, “It’s OK.”

The song is about her life over the past several years dealing with cancer.

The refrain of the song says, “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay. We’re all a little lost and it’s alright.”

Her smile, confidence, and voice won over the judges and the audience.

Especially Simon Cowell who gave her the golden buzzer.

For cancer patients or anyone struggling with life right now, she is a breath of fresh air and a ton of encouragement.

However, what probably propelled her into our hearts may not so much be her song, but a couple of things she said:

“It’s important that everyone knows that I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me.”

Sometimes people can be labeled by their affliction: “There goes Simon the Leper and Blind Bartimaeus.”

And then Jane said, “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”

What a profound statement!

If these words were said by someone who had never known suffering, they would sound like a judgmental scolding toward an unhappy sick person.

But Jane is right in the midst of a health crisis and can speak with authority.

And she has decided not to let her joy be taken away.

To her, happiness is a choice.

She said that she was given a 2% chance of survival, but then said that 2% is not 0%!

Attitude is everything.

Our world is trying to force us all to live in fear.

With so much negativity out there, it’s nice to see someone who has her life under control and not being controlled by the harshness of life.
