Backyard Saturdays at Saluda Shoals Park August 3 will help your children become enviro-kids for National Science Week. The program includes activities and an opportunity to explore the park!

Chapin High School class of 1989 is having its 30-year reunion August 17, 7-10 pm, at the Ole Oak Barn, 1155 Holy Trinity Church Road. For information email 1989chapin@gmail.com .

The Town of Chapin and the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce announce the Chapin Job Fair to be held July 25, noon-6 pm, at Chapin Town Hall, 157 NW Columbia Ave. All candidates should bring extra copies of their resumes and be prepared for interviews. The state museum’s Friday Night Laser Lights summer series will have an Apollo theme for July 26. These laser shows feature choreographed light dancing to music in the 55-foot digital dome. For information visit www.scmuseum.org .

Chapin residents can ask questions of their elected officials, Mayor David Knight, Erin Long Bergeson, from Lexington County Council and District 5 board member, Ken Loveless. The meeting is July 18, 6 pm, at the Chapin Town Hall.

Who murdered hot sauce mogul Prescott Knight? Time is running out to get tickets for the murder mystery dinner event presented by the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library. The hot sauce murder mystery is July 20, 6-9 pm, at The River Center at Saluda Shoals Park. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at www.friendsoftheirmobranchlibrary.org or in person at the Irmo Branch Library, 6251 St. Andrews Road.
