A boater was charged with felony Boating Under the Influence in a fatal Lake Murray accident Sept. 21.

Tracy Gordon, 53, is charged with:

• 1 count of felony BUI resulting in death.

• 2 counts of felony BUI resulting in great bodily harm.

His speedboat hit a pontoon boat killing Stanley Virgil Kiser, 68, of Cheryse Court, Chapin.

Kiser was driving the pontoon boat and died at the scene.

An autopsy indicated that the cause of death was due to multiple massive blunt force trauma to Kiser’s head and torso.

Kiser’s wife lost a leg, and their daughter suffered a head injury.

Gordon and his wife were not injured.

The incident occurred around 9 pm Saturday near 1925 Johnson Marina Road, Chapin.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and SC Department of Natural Resources are investigating.
