Let me ask you a few more questions this week: What do your children tell you about what they are learning in their college classes? How much of it may be about leftist political philosophy and the failings of our own great nation?

Many people tell me they are concerned by the leftist shift in college academia and the media. Others say they wonder if similar indoctrination may be affecting children in secondary education.

WHILE WONDERING about this, I did some research into how the Nazis sold their political philosophy to young people.

Gemany had been financially ruined after World War I. The German people were desperate for food, shelter and a stable economy. While they were starving, Adolf Hitler pictured himself to them as their savior.

As Chancellor, Hitler believed he could control the future by indoctrinating German youth to believe in him and he would avoid any internal challenge to power. The Reich would live a thousand years.

This mass brainwashing was achieved through transforming the schools and creating groups like the Hitler Youth.

HITLER’S HENCHMEN took control of the schools in 1934, fired Jewish teachers and those with rival political views, barred Jewish children from schools and encouraged women to start producing children for his master race instead of teaching them.

Teachers who weren’t dedicated to the Nazi cause were retrained by the National Socialist Teachers League. To keep a teaching job, teachers had to join the league.

To prepare young Germans to fight and breed, physical education was emphasized in schools. To better prepare them to support the state, Nazi ideology was given to them as an exaggerated German history and literature, outright lies in science and German language and culture.

Hitler’s autobiographical “Mein Kampf” (“My Struggle” in English) was heavily studied as his political philosophy and his plan for German conquest. Children raised their right hand in a Nazi salute to their teachers as a show of allegiance.

TALENTED BOYS of the Aryan racial line were sent to elite leadership schools. Some schools that selected pupils based solely on racial criteria ended up with students too intellectually limited for leadership.

The Hitler Youth (“Hitler Jugend”) was created long before the Nazis took power but had a tiny membership. Once Hitler and the Nazis took over, its membership rose dramatically to millions.

The children wore uniforms and swastika armbands and reported on parents and relatives they thought were disloyal.

They were drilled in Nazi ideology and physical fitness. The boys were given military training. The girls were groomed for a domestic life or nursing soldiers.

THE HITLER YOUTH movement was designed to brainwash children to obey the state and prepare to die if needed in their leader’s plans for world conquest.

Is this what has produced violent young radicals such as Antifa on the left and the Boogaloo Bois on the right in America?

It’s a sobering thought, isn’t it?
