A group of about 30 American Legion Legacy Riders stopped by the Pelion Ruritan memorial Oct. 24 to pay their respects to the military honored there. The Legacy Riders are doing individual chapter rides. The group that stopped by the memorial was from the Columbia chapter. The Legacy Riders collect funds to pay for scholarships for children of wounded or KIA military families.

GAIL CORLEY AND I were recently treated to a wonderful evening with the Soldiers of Faith and their spouses. The guys cooked a meal that would put Yamato’s to shame. We were entertained with humorous stories of things that happen when they are on singing tours.

CONVENT BAPTIST CHURCH hosted the annual Fall Festival with a great attendance. Free food, games, cake walk, popcorn, snow cones, fair food and soft drinks were available. The church thanks all volunteers who put this event together.

An outreach program is planned Nov. 21 at the IGA in Pelion.
