Ready for some classic Broadway shows? Our Village Square Theatre announces plans for its 2021-2022 season.

It will stage 6 shows you will not want to miss. Buy a season pass, save money and support them.

They will have covid protocols to keep you safe. As a reminder, 2019-2020 pass holders that have tickets left will be able to use these tickets for the shows Little Women and Frozen.

THE LEXINGTON Network of Female Executives met at the Old Mill Brew Pub to hear Lexington Town Councilman, Todd Carnes talk his early life in Alabama and determination to attend college and succeed in some service profession. He served as pastor at Radius Church and has a real estate business in Lexington. Todd has served on Town Council 9 years. He said the paired traffic plan has improved town traffic flow.

Todd said plans include a new hotel. conference center and lighted mile long walking trail around the Old Mill Pond.

The town plans a US 378 signalization system from the Urgent Care Center on West Main to the main hospital in West Columbia and on I-20 to US 1 to speed emergency vehicle traffic.

COLUMBIA REGIONAL Business Report will honor 24 leaders including a hospital CEO leading the charge against covid-19 and a public servant fighting homelessness.

They have been honored as 2021 Columbia Regional Business Report Icons & Phenoms.

ANNE BULL reports that the free Icehouse Amphitheater concerts will feature the Root Doctors Thursday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 pm.

THE LONG awaited Gibson Pond Park is open with a new bridge, walking trails, fishing piers, new dock and picnic shelters.

ELIZABETH Trenbeath reports that photographer Jen Roberson, mother of 6 home schooled children, held an exhibit at Corley Mill House Aug. 24. Her exhibit consisted of businesswomen in Lexington and Richland counties who are fabulous and over age 50.

Joseph Trenbeath has attained the Boy Scout 1st Class rank and joined the Order of the Arrow, the honor society of Scouting.

All order candidates must first complete the Ordeal. Joseph completed his at Camp Barstow in August. Candidates must maintain silence, receive small amounts of food, sleep apart from other campers without tents and work on improvement projects. Joseph’s team cleared roads, cut down problem trees and move damaged boats.

PEGGY MOSELEY told us St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 403 Park Rd., Lexington is having an indoor yard sale 8:30 am – 1 pm Oct. 2. Proceeds benefit Missions in Ecuador. For details call 803-359-2444.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Howard Rawl who celebrated a belated 90th with a dinner for family and friends Saturday. His real date was late Dec. but due to covid circumstances, it was delayed.

And happy birthday to Ann Meetze Addy who turns 96 on Sept. 8.
