LEXINGTON – Bruce Milton Corley passed away peacefully at the Heritage at Lowman on the morning of April 1, 2021 at the age of 66. Born on August 6, 1954 to Elford Leonell and Margaret Fincher Corley, he graduated from Lexington High School and Midlands Technical College. He was employed at the University of South Carolina for 29 years and proudly wore the garnet and black.

Bruce had a relaxed, unhurried approach to life. His soft-spoken, unassuming manner belied a sharp mind and good humor. His conversation was seasoned with witticisms. He was kind and gentle and deeply loved his family and friends. Despite declining health due to diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, Bruce never let his own problems overshadow his concern for others.

Music provided great pleasure to Bruce, whether it consisted of listening to his extensive album collection, attending concerts or singing with the USC Philharmonic Chorus and the Lexington County Choral Society. He also enjoyed classic films, well-crafted novels, word puzzles and tasty cheeseburgers.

Bruce is survived by his brother, Myron F. Corley (Linda); niece, Erin C. Titus (Matt); nephew, Brian A. Corley, and great nieces, Ashleigh R. Titus and Miriam G. Titus.

The family thanks all the relatives and friends who loved and supported Bruce throughout his life, especially cousin Eileen C. Leaphart, who expressed her love for Bruce in countless ways and supported him in times of greatest need.

Bruce’s life will be celebrated at a graveside service on Sunday, April 11 at 3 pm at Zion Lutheran Church. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
