Burger chain to open in Lexington this week

Lexington residents now have another spot to grab burgers.

The location of the fast-casual chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers that has been under construction at the corner of Swartz Road and E Main Street near downtown is set to open Dec. 14.

According to a release, it’s the fourth Freddy’s in the area, joining existing locations in West Columbia, Columbia and Irmo.

Freddy’s is known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers made with lean 100 percent ground beef, all-beef hot dogs, crispy shoestring fries and frozen custard treats made with freshly churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard,” the release states.

According to the release, the 2,400-square-foot location has indoor seating for 38 in addition to an outdoor patio and will offer drive-through service and mobile ordering through the Freddy’s app and website.

When it opens, Freddy’s will be the only drive-through food option between Interstate 20 and downtown Lexington along U.S. Highway 1.

Hours of operation will be 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“Our teams work hard to provide a relaxing environment in the restaurant, focusing on cleanliness and quality service.” Brett Rickert, franchise owner, is quoted. “We hope families in the nearby residential neighborhoods will stop by for a quick bite to eat and get a taste of what Freddy’s has to offer.”
