The Candidates on Lexington County Ballots for the June 14 Primary Election

Posted

Primary day is upon us, Lexington County.

On Tuesday, June 14, polling locations across the county have candidates for Democrat and Republican nominations for office facing off for your votes.

In the case of the five state House of Representatives seats that will appear on ballots in the county, only Republicans are competing in the primary — so the winners will very likely be sent (or sent back) to the Statehouse in November.

This is a gubernatorial election year, and there are candidates vying for each party’s nomination there, and a couple of other big state offices will appear on Lexington County ballots — Superintendent of Education (with Democrat and Republican vying for the position) and Secretary of State (where Republican incumbent Mark Hammond faces one challenger from his own party).

Republican Tim Scott’s Senate seat will be on the ballot in November. He’s not facing a challenge in his party, but three Democrats are on the primary ballot vying for the chance to oppose him.

To help you get prepared to vote, here is a list of all the candidates who will appear on Lexington County ballots and some links to help you do your research.
