Cayce police are searching for a driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision Monday.
The incident occurred in the east bound lanes near 1925 Airport Blvd, at approximately 7:45 pm. Officers were notified shortly after 8 pm, when a passing motorist observed an injured pedestrian on the shoulder of the road.
Investigators are reviewing video footage from local businesses and traffic cameras in the area. The involved vehicle may have damage to the right front headlamp assembly, and could possibly have a damaged bumper or hood. At this time, we are asking anyone who was in the area of Airport Blvd and I-26 around the time of the collision to reach out to investigators. We are especially interested in any dash camera footage from any vehicle driving through the area during the time surrounding the incident.
The victim in this case was transported to a local hospital.
Please contact Lt. Jason Merrill at the Cayce Department of Public Safety by calling 803-794-0456. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can do so by contacting CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
