Jonathan E. von Moltke has been appointed as the new assistant police chief for the City of Cayce. He has over 10 years of law enforcement experience.

“New Assistant Chief von Moltke brings a rare combination of investigative expertise, training excellence, and servant leadership,” Cayce Police Chief Bruce Wade said in a press release. “His dedication to integrity, transparency, and accountability aligns perfectly with the values of the Cayce Police Department.”

A U.S. Army veteran, von Moltke began his law enforcement career in 2012 and has experience in investigations, training, tactical operations and organizational leadership. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles, including investigator, training instructor, sergeant, field training officer manager and advanced instructor with the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

His professional background includes criminal and administrative investigations, internal affairs, property crimes, special victims cases, homicide investigations and large-scale training program development.

Additionally, von Moltke holds an associate and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, as well as a graduate certificate in human resource management. He is currently completing a Master of Science in organizational leadership.

In the media release, von Moltke said he is honored to serve the City of Cayce and its residents and looks forward to supporting the department’s professionalism and community engagement.

This hire comes almost a year after Wade was hired as chief.
