Sit back and relax.
Lexington Medical Center’s annual event honoring breast cancer survivors is coming to a virtual audience this year.
Join the hospital from the comfort of home or a friend’s backyard to gather for a special online celebration of breast cancer survivors.
The online event will include the stories of incredible women from our community who are fighting breast cancer with courage and conviction. And, it will share information about how Lexington Medical Center is preventing and treating cancer.
The website to watch the event October 1 will be www.WomensNightIn.com .
There will also be an online silent auction that opens September 25.
Women’s Night In benefits the Crystal Smith Breast Cancer Fund, which provides breast cancer patients with wigs, mastectomy bras and post-surgical kits.
Crystal Smith was a Lexington Medical Center employee who died of breast cancer at the young age of 44. She was a wife and mother of 3 young children.
All women over the age of 40 should have an annual mammogram.
If a woman has a family history of breast cancer, especially a mother, grandmother or aunt, she should speak with her doctor about the possibility of beginning screenings earlier.
Lexington Medical Center offers state-of-the-art 3-D mammography throughout the hospital’s network of care and on its mobile mammography van.
This technology can detect lesions as small as 2 millimeters, diagnosing cancer earlier and reducing the need for unnecessary callbacks.
Lexington Medical Center diagnoses approximately 300 cases of breast cancer each year.
