Chamber CEO announces new look

Changes are coming to the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center.

New Chamber CEO Tim James told the Chronicle one of his major goals is to make the Chamber more relevant and valuable to the needs of businesses and residents alike.

Ashley Hunter, spokesperson for the chamber, said they are kicking off a community branding campaign. It will reinvest in promoting local chamber businesses and their services in the Cayce and West Columbia Communities.

The goal is to bring together a collective group of business leaders, civilians, and municipal leaders who are passionate about seeing the community thrive.

“To bring a cohesive look, to provide creative services and to extend new membership benefits, we don’t need to look to out of state companies,” said Chamber Board Chairman Thomas Tafel.

“We have exactly what we need right here in the Cayce-West Columbia area that will make this branding project a tremendous success.”

Cayce and West Columbia will each appoint 4 members to the branding committee which will start meeting next week. And a request for proposals will go out to chamber members September 4.

“There is absolutely no better voice to recruit visitors, economic development opportunities and potential businesses for our area than those who already live and work here,” James said.

The chamber expects to unveil its new look by early 2021. The Chronicle will provide updates periodically on its progress.
