The beginning of September brings with it the Chapin Labor Day Parade.  Festivities begin August 31 with the Justin Pepper 5K run at 8 am and a Tokyo Jo concert on Beaufort street at 7 pm.

Sunday’s concert with Noel Lindler and the Bank Walkers is at 7 pm. The Labor Day Parade begins at 9:30 am September 2. There are many family-friendly activities, including the Chapin Library’s Book Sale,  Classic Car show, and a model train Exhibit. Go early to the parade to get a good place in the shade!

The Rotary Club of Lake Murray presented the Saluda Shoals Foundation a $10,000 check to help with the purchase of a  universally inclusive playground boat swing. The new playground will be for all ages and abilities to play together.  Thank you, Rotary Club, for your contribution!

Want to make some money? Clean out your garage, attic, kids’ rooms, and closets and get a table at the Seven Oaks indoor garage sale September 14, Vendors must set up at between 4 and 7 pm Friday prior to the sale. The sale runs 7 until 11 am Saturday. Call 772-3336 for information.

The Chapin Chamber’s Night of Comedy & Karaoke will be September 21, 7–10 pm, on Beaufort Street. The event will bring two clean comedians to Chapin and a karaoke contest among audience members.  Advance general tickets are $25 and $35 at the door.   Call 803-345-1100 for information.
