Chick-fil-A owner reaches milestone

Posted

Michael Tucker, owner of the Chick-fil-A on Sunset Blvd. is celebrating 44 years in business.

For his guests, he is the energetic guy scurrying around making sure everyone is served quickly.

He worked for his fatherin-law Norris Lewis at the Chick-fil-A in Dutch Square after graduating from USC.

It was hard to get a franchise but he and wife Patty were able to open the restaurant at Woodhill Mall near the VA Hospital.

Tucker is passionate about his employees.

He told the Chronicle he feels God inspired him to mentor young people and be a positive influence. In addition to corporate college tuition scholarships, he contributes $250-$750 to help young employees attend college.

Covid 19 has been a challenge, he said, but it has helped them become a better company. It required quick operational changes that made them “think outside of the box.”

Despite the challenges, and commitment to excellence, he said he has no plans to retire.
