It’s time for pumpkins, which means that the annual Red Bank United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch is now open with tons of great pumpkins to choose from. The patch is on South Lake Drive as you head into downtown Lexington, on the left side next to Grady’s Billiards.
Red Bank UMC is also hosting the first Trunk or Treat of the Halloween season this Oct. 25 in the church parking lot. This is a popular community event that draws hundreds of costumed kids every year. there’ll be free hot dogs and snacks for everyone, plus games and decorated trunks full of candy. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 8; call 359-4031 for information.
If you’ve been by the Walmart in Red Bank, you may have noticed the site work that’s begun in the space behind Rush’s; word from the property management company is that it will be a Jiffy Lube location.
Firehouse Subs is reportedly going to open in the shopping strip attached to the new Publix, and there may be an Ar-by’s coming to Red Bank some time next year.
In local church news,
there is a group forming to plant a new church in the White Knoll area sometime in the next two years to serve a diverse congregation. In the planning stages at the moment, search “The Church at White Knoll” for more information.
