Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and Habitat for Humanity have again teamed up to make home ownership a reality for another Lexington resident.
This project started in 2020 but was slowed down quite a bit due to the pandemic.
While the first 2 were ground-up builds, this one is a whole house remodel at 935 Hendrix St. in Lexington.
The house is being gutted and rebuilt. Two rooms and a bathroom will be added making it a 4-bed, 2-bath home.
New homeowner Ronica has been through extensive training on personal finance and budgeting and is actively participating in building the home. A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week.
Janice Albergoti, Missions Director at Mt. Horeb told the Chronicle that their goal for 2021 is to complete 3 more houses.
