(The road to the SC High School League competitive cheer championships started this past Monday with the Class 3A Lower State qualifiers at Lower Richland High School. Brookland-Cayce, Gilbert, Pelion and Gray Collegiate all competed for a spot in the Nov. 20 finals at Colonial Life Arena. Irmo High School served as host site for the Class 4A qualifier held Wednesday and the Class 5A qualifier takes place Saturday at Lexington High School in two sessions.
