Lexington County residents’ curbside collection service rates are expected to change.

County officials have sought better rates and service through competitive bids for new contracts.

In District 3 in the Lexington area south of Lake Murray represented by Council man Darrell Hudson:

• Curbside rates fall to $15.98 a month

• Backdoor rates fall to $31.96 a month

In District 7 in Irmo and 7 Oaks represented by Council man Phil Yarborough:

• The service changes from Advanced Disposal to Waste Industries.

• Curbside collection falls to $19.74 a month.

• Backdoor collection falls to $39.48 a month.

• Collection day may change.

• 1,900 homes in District 3 will be incorporated into District 7, changing their monthly curbside rates to $19.74.
