SC health officials see an encouraging recovery trend.
Of 111,294 SC covid-19 victims, 91.1% of them have recovered.
As of Sunday, SC had a reported 195,507 cases.
The recovery rate has been improving since May.
DHEC’s Laura Renwick supplied this recovery history to us:
• Early May: 78%
• Early July: 85%
• Early September: 92%
Unfortunately, county-by-county numbers are not yet available.
SC recovery rate data is based on the number of individuals the Department of Health and Environmental Control has symptoms data for.
These are not the total number of SC cases.
Of those 111,294 cases, 8.9% remain ill.
No deaths were reported Sunday in Lexington or Richland counties.
Lexington County had 58 new cases, Richland 54.
This was almost 50% fewer cases than Saturday.
DHEC reported only 2 SC elderly deaths Sunday.

8,694 individual test results reported statewide yesterday (not including antibody tests)
15.4% tested positive as infected.
That means 84.6% tested negative as uninfected.
