The Lexington County School District 3 Board of Trustees is pursuing a bond referendum in the November 2018 general election. If passed, the bond issue would allow the school district to borrow up to $90 million to fund renovations at the existing B-L Primary School facility and to build a brand new B-L High School. The renovations would address the safety, student growth, and aging building issues that have concerned Board members for years, according to a district press release. Lexington 3 is holding the following meetings for the public to ask questions about the referendum:

• Monday, October 1 at 7 p.m. at Steadman Baptist Church, 1011 North Edisto Road, Batesburg-Leesville

• Monday, October 8 at 7 p.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 122 South Oak Street, Batesburg-Leesville

• Monday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 302 Brodie Road, Batesburg-Leesville Please visit the district’s website www.lex3.org and the district’s social media pages for more information. Anyone with questions can also contact the Lexington 3 District Office at 803-532-4423.
